The Simi Valley Vikings have fielded youth football teams for 45 years.

Since almost the very beginning, Carl and Willa Dobbs have volunteered with the organization, doing everything from coaching to running the snack booth.

Eight-year-old Corey Pool woke up early Saturday morning, but it wasn't to watch cartoons.

Instead of sitting in front of the television, Pool put on his football pads and helmet because he was ready to "score some touchdowns, hit someone hard and make someone cry."

Simi Valley Green also won a championship, beating Santa Clarita Navy in the Junior 2 Division, 14-0.
